Self portrait with clothing and shoes deliberately placed on the floor in a circular pattern. Clothing includes multiple black shirts, several pairs of jeans, a floor length gown, a wedding dress, neon bikinis, a homemade sweater created by a family member to celebrate a Super Bowl win, a vintage leopard print winter coat, a yukata, rain boots, pajamas, gym clothes, Uggs and more. Photographer and founder of Capsule Wardrobe Data
I grew up in Indianapolis as a kid of two journalists. From the age of 14, I worked freelance and newspaper gigs for love and money. For love, I'm a photojournalist recording my own wardrobe. For money, I'm product manager in New York.
My advice has been gathered over the past 15 years maintaining my own minimal wardrobe and years of practical experience tracking my wardrobe. As a teenager, I was featured in TeenVogue for curating my sustainable style through second-hand stores. More recently, I’ve helped others to transform their wardrobes by using data to develop a uniform that is easy to maintain and authentic to their personal style. I’ve created data projects to answer questions such as ‘how much clothing do people own?’ and have been featured on ETNEWS in Taiwan for my short film examining our relationship to clothing and the perceptions of others from what we wear. Today, I document my Capsule Wardrobe through photos and data and help others to do the same.
